Giclee ( What is Giclee Printmaking?
Giclee, which means "spray" in French, is a cutting-edge printing technique that differs from lithography and silkscreen printing in that it does not use a plate. The original painting is scanned at high resolution and digitalized, and then printed on the highest quality matte fine art canvas using pigment printing, which boasts high resolution, wide color gamut, and high archival durability.
Giclee is a technique that reproduces subtle nuances such as the unevenness of a work and the texture of the canvas, and most faithfully expresses the artist's unique "color" and "touch."
Ki-Yan Stuzio 's giclee prints are hand-finished with Hideki Kimura's distinctive borders, resulting in works with a three-dimensional feel and impact that are comparable to the originals.
The giclee print will be signed by Kimura Hideki to mark it as an official work.

This ultra-large digital archive scanner is capable of scanning the world's largest 2m x 2m manuscripts in ultra-high resolution and without contact. Original drawings are scanned by Newly Co., Ltd., which also handles the scanning of cultural property-class sliding doors and folding screens.

Lightfastness is the most important factor for artworks. It is important to maintain the condition of the work at the time of completion and preserve it for as long as possible. The pigment ink used in giclee, combined with the paper, achieves high water resistance and lightfastness of 150 to 250 years*. (*Expected number of years when displayed under normal glass.)
